Based on the Merriam-Webster dictionary, consciousness is defined-as the state of being characterized by sensation, emotion, volition, and thought. My favorite teacher, David Hawkins, in his book Power vs. Force gives an example to help us understand this important concept. He said: “Consciousness is our true power-which helps us open our mind to more self-awareness!” In other words, our conscious plays the main role in our personal development and growth. We need to be more aware of our consciousness (emotions, believes, intuition and thoughts) as they affect our ability to form our attitudes, our choices and overall our will for life.
