Life Hack: Use Your Memory to Accomplish More Success – Part 2

By, Kathy Shabotynskyj & Nafije Prishtina
Is your memory helping you achieve more?
Are you using external tools to assist your memory?
Part 1 of this Life Hack blog – Use Your Memory to Accomplish More Success showed how you can match emotion with your intentions to enhance your productivity. Now we want to further explore and share with you how you can accomplish more of what is important—often by doing less.
There are many potentially fruitful prospective memory-based interventions that can help you avoid Memory Failures. Many industries use checklists and follow best-practices to ensure conformity to standard protocol. Utilizing these measures can help improve success by carrying out intended actions:
·         Use calendar alerts from your cell phone or favorite app
·         Minimize any Multitasking endeavors; especially when the task is critical
·         Add a sense of urgency to critical tasks and don’t delay
·         Put visual reminders in key locations
·         Stack the new task onto a habit that you already have established
Planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks is the most effective way to build greater success. You can follow those strategies using the SMART
goal setting system. It helps individuals reach their goals, one task at a
time, one day at a time. My Co-Coach Nafije created a process for maximizing
success named the “Shining Stars Success System” or 4S. Her research of this
system comes from her years of experience as a Life Coach and time management
expert working with customers of diverse backgrounds.
Specific goals matched with visualization that generates feelings associated with reaching that goal will produce success faster. Using a system and monitoring the progress of tasks ensures continuous progress toward the goal. Take advantage of your memory and external tools and you will achieve the success you desire.
