What are your Productivity Enemies?

What are your Productivity Enemies? By, Career Coach Kathy Shabotynskyj and Life/Business Coach Nafije Prishtina I know that you know what you want to do, you have stated your goals in writing using the SMART format, and you’re making good progress accomplishing that which you set your mind to doing. You're so good, you check that box completed. YAY you say with a smile. You also know that you're able to do more great things based on your past accomplishments. You're living the life you want, and you’re saying to yourself “Wow, I'm so awesome, I'm unstoppable, I'm a true shining star!” The above statement is true and I have experienced it many many times. I also have witnessed my clients sharing their successful experiences just like the above statement. That feeling is extraordinary so it is natural, it increases our dopamine and I believe it is almost contagious. Then sometimes, something happens.  The day starts out right, we list the “to do’s”...

Coaches Need Coaching Too!

Image
Career Coach Kathy Shabotynskyj and Life & Business Coach Nafije Prishtina  By chance, a Life Coach from Melbourne was introduced to a Career Coach from Palm City, two east coast  Florida communities separated by 75 miles.  Excitement surrounded our initial face to face meeting with a  serious intention to build a Mastermind Group of like-minded professionals. Female, entrepreneurs who engage in helping people created our common bond. Fast forward to now, two months hence, and the Mastermind Group did not successfully get off the ground.   As the group’s two last standing, we decided to co-coach one another – a mini-mastermind group. It is working out extraordinarily well.  We have a budding friendship and a commitment to help one another. We’re each coaching a coach and being coached by a coach. The one solid objective of our engagement is to help support  the direction and growth of our fellow coach. What did you do to get...

Celebrate small and big steps toward success!

Celebrate small and big steps toward success! "Success is a series of small wins." –Unknown We all know that big things in life are achieved from many small steps. As a leader one of the most essential skills you can have is your ability to accomplish, acknowledge and celebrate small steps toward success. I had to learn those skills for myself –that’s why I designed a time management system and learned the importance of not only having a road map to success, but remembering to celebrate small steps each day. This ability helps me create results I want in my life, and it also helps me become a better leader. As a Life Coach my job is to empower my clients and help them design and achieve success. The empowering becomes easier as my clients get clear on what exactly they need to do every day to get to where they want to go. My job then is fun because I'm there witnessing their daily wins and celebrating their accomplishments. That’s why, coaching...

Inspired by a rose!

Image
~Inspired by a Rose~ By, Nafije Prishtina I look at this Rose and I can't help but think-what's her purpose?  She has so many thorns and yet she's looking great and smelling awesome! I realize that just like this beautiful rose my life has had some thorns too.  I pray that my mind, my soul, my heart and my body stays strong and grows in full blossom- despite my pain, and  I pray that my words smell as good as the roses! Now, I know what to do, I have to remind myself of my inner beauty. Continue growing and keep planting some more roses.  Then I need to take care of them and most importantly .... I take my time to enjoy their sweet smell. **** Like so many of you-I sometimes wonder what's my purpose in life and one day a rose reminded me. She said that "My job here on earth is to be present, to stay strong,  be patient and grateful for my time while blooming!" I agree- my life is at best when I live in the present. That's where I find peace. When a...

Choosing to live in the present!

Image
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present."-Bill Keane This quote is so simple to understand and very important to remember. It is my goal in life to be grateful for my time and treat my time as the greatest present from God. I try to live from this place each and every moment of my life and that's how time management  became my life's work.   It helps us to remember that "yesterday is history"  and it is our past which we can't change. Knowing and accepting that past is in the past- leaves us with more room for today.  Choosing to consciously live in the present today encourages us to focus more in what we need to do today, and hopefully it allows us to be more productive with our tasks at hand. Remembering that "tomorrow is mystery" and it is in the future is also beneficial because it means that we have no control and it leaves more room for us to de...

To Shine or Not to Shine

To Shine or Not to Shine I'm sure the question above has crossed everyone's mind at some point, as it reflects our shared desire for success in both our personal and professional lives. While the journey of choosing a major, obtaining a degree, and pursuing job opportunities may seem overwhelming, the motivation to shine propels us forward and helps us make progress in life. It pushes us to acquire new skills, go the extra mile, win over hiring managers, and secure the job we desire. As new employees, we feel excited and eager to take on new challenges, waking up every day with the determination to shine brightly in our roles. We strive to impress our bosses and coworkers, going above and beyond in our efforts. However, this initial enthusiasm may wane after a few months, depending on factors like our position, manager, or team dynamics. If we lack self-motivation at work, attendance issues may arise, and our performance could suffer, leading us to question whether to stay or ...
